Vacancy: Kit and Equipment Manager (Men’s team)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Wales Rugby League, the National Governing Body for Rugby League in Wales. We are seeking to appoint a Kit & Equipment Manager to support the Senior Men’s Teams.

Location: Home and remote based with travel
Voluntary Role with agreed expenses

The position may require international travel, and all applicants must hold a full, valid passport.

Kit & Equipment Manager Principal Responsibilities

· The Kit & Equipment Manager is responsible and accountable for managing the inventory of equipment, kits and other essential supplies for the Senior Men’s Squads. The role ensures that all items are tracked, accounted for, and available as needed to support the squad’s operations. The position requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a passion for rugby league whilst working as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

Inventory Management

o Maintain an accurate inventory of all Kit & Equipment and supplies.

o Perform regular stock counts and audits.

Stock control

o Ensure adequate stock levels of kit, training equipment and other supplies.

o Working with the Team Managers and WRL Operations Coordinator to order new stock as and when required.

o Monitor stock usage and predict future requirements.

Distribution

o Distribute training kit, playing kit and equipment to players and coaching staff as needed.

o Ensure all equipment is prepared and ready for training sessions, as well as for all home and away fixtures.

o Coordinate the collection and storage of equipment after use.

Maintenance

o Inspect equipment for damage and coordinate repairs or replacements.

o Ensure all equipment is clean, safe and in good working condition.

o Manage the laundering of kits and other items as and when necessary.

Administrative Duties

o Maintain detailed records of equipment issued to players and staff.

o Assist in budgeting for equipment needs and managing expenses.

Support Role

o Assist the Management and Coaching Team with additional duties as required.

o Provide logistical support during training sessions as well as home and away matches.

o Attend all staff meetings, training sessions and fixtures.

Matchday & Training Kit Logistics

o Responsible and accountable for all home and away matchday kit and training kit provision.

o Responsible for any additional printing and / or embroidery requirements as and when required.

o Prepare and set out team Dressing room ahead of all home and away fixtures.

o Clean and tidy work areas e.g Dressing rooms, meeting rooms etc.

o Drive the kit & equipment to venues for training sessions and fixtures.

Required Skills

· Strong organisational and timing management abilities.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

· Proficiency with inventory and management software and MS Office.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Other Requirements

· Rugby League Knowledge – Understanding of rugby league rules, competition structure and codes of conduct.

· Confidentiality – Ability to handle sensitive player information with discretion in a fast moving and changing environment.

· Flexibility – Willingness to work weekends and evenings, and to travel for training, matches and meetings.

· Physical Ability – Has the ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
