Wales Rugby League is committed to provide fully qualified coaches and assistant coaches to develop the game throughout Wales.
In order to become a coach, you don’t have to have played the game, but you must have an understanding of Rugby League, however, playing experience can help, but is in no way essential.
What you must have is enthusiasm for the game, and the desire to impart your knowledge in an understanding and safe manner.
Most coaches will begin their coaching career with younger players, i.e. under 16 age groups, so patience is a key.
Wales Rugby League, in association with the Rugby Football League run several coaching courses throughout the year, and should you be interested in becoming a coach, please contact info@walesrugbyleague.co.uk for details of the next course.
