We don’t stop playing because we get old. We get old when we stop playing. If you’re 35 or over then Masters Rugby League is the game for you!
Masters is strictly a social version of the sport and the rules are slightly modified to cater for the older player.
There are no winners, no champions and no cup finals – Masters is about is all about the spirit of the game. It’s also great for mental well-being.
If you want to get involved in Masters, there are currently two teams in Wales, Cardiff Blue Dragons Masters and North Wales Buccaneers. Both have a good fixture list that can be found on the website.
Cardiff Blue Dragons Masters are looking to promote masters in South Wales with an East v West first game to be played on 11th March at Pencoed, 20th May at Cardiff, 12th August Curtain raiser for Wales v Ireland Masters, 9th September venue to be confirmed.
All are welcome but need to have joined in a runout session first to understand the rules.
If you’d like to join us or set up your own Masters team or find out more, get in touch with Chris Thomas at masters@walesrugbyleague.co.uk
