Cymru to face Canada in July as part of World Cup preparations

Wales Rugby League Women will face Canada in at The Gnoll on Sunday 19th July (3pm kick-off), as preparations continue for a historic first appearance at the Rugby League World Cup later this year.

The match marks a significant milestone in preparation ahead of our debut on the world stage this autumn in Australia. Drawn into a challenging group, Wales will open their campaign against England in Perth on Saturday 17th October, before taking on Samoa and reigning World Champions Australia.

July’s encounter will be the first ever meeting between Wales and Canada in women’s rugby league, adding further intrigue to what promises to be an exciting and competitive fixture.

Canada will provide a strong test for captain Bethan Dainton and her teammates, having competed in both the 2017 and 2022 Rugby League World Cups.

The fixture at The Gnoll offers fans an opportunity to see the Wales Women’s team in action on home soil as they continue their preparations for a historic World Cup appearance.

Ticket details will be announced in the near future.
