In this, our final round-up of the season, the domestic running rugby league season is now over for our players, and there were mixed fortunes for the three who were in action in yesterday’s Grand Finals. Picture by Olly Hassell/SWpix.com
Carys Marsh was a winner with Wigan Warriors in the Women’s Super League Grand Final after she helped her side to a 16-12 victory over St Helens. Dani McGifford scored her 20th try of the season for St Helens and cemented herself as the league’s top try scorer for 2025, but had to settle for a silver medal in the end.
Also unable to strike gold in a big dance was Bailey Antrobus. He played for York Knights in the men’s Championship Grand Final, where kicking let them down. They lost 10-8 despite outscoring the winners, Toulouse Olympique XIII, two tries to nil. Toulouse kicked five penalties to give them the trophy and a much-needed 0.25 IMG bonus.
Our Wheelchair season is still going, and with two regular season matches remaining, Torfaen Tigers are still top of the table with six wins from six. Welsh internationals Jason Reynolds, Jamie Reynolds and Scott Trigg-Turner were amongst their scorers in their win over Cardiff Blue Dragons yesterday, who fielded Lee Sargent and Paul Sargent. Meanwhile, North Wales Crusaders fielded four internationals in their win over Swindon St George, with Harry Mitchell-Jones, Jess Booth and Martin Turner all scoring, and Stuart Williams also making an appearance.
