Men’s team captain Elliot Kear had a try-scoring return from injury on Sunday as he helped Batley Bulldogs to a 24-14 win at Sheffield Eagles. He’ll hope to continue this form into Wales’ autumn campaign that was confirmed earlier this week. Some of his team-mates were up against each other in the Championship. Rhys Williams was also in try-scoring form as he, Gavin Bennion and Ant Walker were all in the Swinton Lions side that beat Connor Davies‘ Halifax Panthers. Curtis Davies and his Dewsbury Rams side lost at home to Barrow Raiders. Huw Worthington helped Whitehaven win at home to Doncaster.
In League 1, Jude Ferreira scored a try to help Hunslet to a home win against North Wales Crusaders for whom Ben Evans starred. Harry Boots and Jake Lloyd were in the Cornwall side as they lost at home to Sam Bowring‘s Midlands Hurricanes. Billy Walkley suffered defeat with Keighley Cougars at home to Oldham as the visitors won the League 1 title and were promoted to the Championship.
Finally, in the NRL, Sam Hughes and Harry Hayes were in the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs side that beat the Dolphins at home.
