Men’s Challenge Cup round-up 2025 R3

The men’s Rugby League Challenge Cup entered the Third Round stage last weekend, where the Super League sides entered the fray. Here’s how our players fared. Pic: RL Pix.

Widnes Vikings had to come back from behind three times against North Wales Crusaders in their 26-20 win in Colwyn Bay. Rhys Williams led the way for the Vikings with a hat-trick of tries with Mike Butt adding their other try. Matty Fozard also lined up for Widnes with Paddy Jones in the Crusaders side.

Wales men’s captain Elliot Kear made his first appearance of the season and helped Batley Bulldogs to a 26-4 win over Dewsbury Rams. Caleb Aekins starred in Featherstone Rovers’ win over Ince Rose Bridge. Gil Dudson helped Oldham to a large win over Barrow Raiders. Denive Balmforth scored a try in Hull FC’s win at York Acorn. Luke Thomas returned to Warrington Wolves and came off the bench to help them beat Whitehaven. Will Evans and his Whitehaven side were knocked out at home to Leigh Leopards.
