Luke Thomas played in three matches in April, two for Warrington Wolves and one for Oldham, all victories, including a dominant win over Wigan Warriors. He scored his first try of the season in the second, which was Oldham’s victory over Hunslet. Denive Balmforth played in all four matches for York Knights, including in their win over Toulouse Olympique XIII. Caleb Aekins started in all three of Bradford Bulls’ defeats.
Billy Walkley scored two tries in three matches for Sheffield Eagles, one of them in a win over Salford. Finley Yates continued his good form with two tries in four matches for Salford, one of which helped them to victory over local rivals Swinton Lions. Sam Bowring scored his first-ever Salford try against the Lions. He also played in the victory over Batley and the loss to Sheffield, where Ollie Garmston scored a try, and he had also played in the previous two games.
Matty Fozard starred in all four matches for Widnes Vikings, including two wins over Dewsbury Rams and one against Halifax Panthers. Mike Butt played in three matches, scoring a try against Halifax.
Bailey Antrobus helped Newcastle Thunder to wins over Goole Vikings, Batley Bulldogs and Barrow Raiders. He was also playing in the narrow loss at Hunslet, as was Jude Ferreira, scoring a try in his first match of the season.
After taking to the public address box for North Wales Crusaders against Midlands Hurricanes, Ant Walker played his final game for the club in the loss to Keighley Cougars before moving to Hunslet. His first game there was a heavy loss to Oldham, but he did celebrate the move with a debut try. A week later, he starred in Hunslet’s win over Whitehaven. Ashton Robinson and Junior Westwood played in both of North Wales Crusaders matches, with Jake Nottingham in action in the Keighley encounter.
Max Clarke was a try scorer for Keighley against Crusaders, one of three matches he played this month. Luis Roberts was a try scorer for Midlands Hurricanes against Crusaders and also played in their victory over Workington.
Twins Connor Davies and Curtis Davies played in all three Halifax matches. Spencer Fulton was in action for Workington Town in their loss at Oldham.
