Denive Balmforth scored a try for York Knights in their historic 34-32 win over St Helens, also playing in the other three York matches, all of which ended in defeat. Luke Thomas helped Warrington Wolves to wins over Castleford Tigers, York Knights and Hull FC. Caleb Aekins played in all four of Bradford Bulls’ defeats.
Sam Grice scored his first-ever first-class tries, going over for Hunslet once in each of the wins over Dewsbury Rams and Rochdale Hornets. He also faced Sheffield Eagles twice, once for Hunslet, and once on loan with Widnes Vikings. Billy Walkley scored a try for Sheffield Eagles in each of their wins over Halifax and Hunslet. Ant Walker also had an excellent month, helping Hunslet to three wins out of four, scoring a try against both Keighley and Rochdale Hornets. Jude Ferreira scored a try for Newcastle Thunder in their win at Dewsbury Rams and also played in their victories against Workington and Midlands. Bailey Antrobus was over the line for Newcastle against Workington, Batley and Midlands.
Mike Butt scored tries for Widnes in the loss to London Broncos and 11-10 victory over Halifax. Matty Fozard scored one try for Widnes in their win over Salford. His brother Jamie Fozard turned out for North Wales Crusaders in their loss at Midlands Hurricanes. Luis Roberts scored a try for Midlands in their win over Keighley, contributed to the win over Workington Town, and played in the defeats at Doncaster and Newcastle Thunder.
Oliver Garmston scored two tries and Charlie Glover one for Salford in the close derby defeat to Swinton Lions, with both also playing in their loss at Oldham and win at Batley Bulldogs. Fin Yates played against Widnes, Oldham and Batley. Charlie Newton, already with two Wales caps under his belt, made his club debut for Halifax in their close 19-18 defeat to Keighley Cougars. Curtis Davies and Connor Davies both played in all five of Halifax’s losses last month. Max Clarke was in the Keighley side that lost to Hunslet.
