Luke Thomas starred in two wins for Warrington Wolves, scoring a try against Bradford Bulls. Caleb Aekins played for Bradford in that loss, but helped them to one win this month, that over Hull FC. Denive Balmforth was in the York Knights side that lost to St Helens.

Billy Walkley had another excellent month in the Championship. He scored six tries in four matches for Sheffield Eagles, keeping him in the top ten try scorers in the RFL men’s competitions. This included a hat-trick of tries in the 28-16 win at Workington Town, two in the 28-14 win at Halifax Panthers, and one in the loss to London Broncos.

Jude Ferreira also scored six tries in May, going over in every match, to help earn Newcastle Thunder three wins out of four. Bailey Antrobus also played for Newcastle in those matches.

Mike Butt played in two Widnes Vikings matches this month, both wins, scoring two tries against Salford. Oliver Garmston played in the same, scoring a try against Halifax. Matty Fozard played in three Widnes matches, his addition being the victory against Sheffield.

It was new owners and a new start for North Wales Crusaders. They’ve no wins on the board so far, but the club are competing, and that’s the important thing. Welsh players in the side include Wales U19 international Evan Rowlands, former Wales junior Isaac Wheatley, and Matty’s brother Jamie Fozard.

Former Crusaders player Owain Abel made his Salford debut in their win at Halifax. Sam Bowring also played for Salford in that match, with he and Fin Yates, also playing for Salford in the loss to Widnes.

It was one win out of four for Halifax in May, a 30-16 victory against Dewsbury Rams, where Curtis Davies scored a try. He and his twin brother, Connor Davies, played in all four.

Luis Roberts played in three matches for Midlands Hurricanes, scoring a try in the 1895 Cup win at Oldham. Ant Walker played in three losses for Hunslet, scoring a try against Workington Town. Max Clarke took part in three matches for Keighley Cougars, helping them to one win, which was over Halifax, and scoring a try in the loss to Batley Bulldogs.
