History was made in Mold as the NORTH WALES CRUSADERS JUNIORS grabbed their win first ever league win in just their second outing as they beat WARRINGTON RYLANDS SHARKS 30-22.
This was only the second time some of the Welsh lads had ever played rugby league and the game was also watched by Super League players Rhys and Gavin Williams, who were delighted to see the Crusaders earn their first win.
The match was a close contest and Rylands deserve a lot of credit for making the game so well fought.
A hat-trick for Andrew Oakden helped his side to earn their historic victory, along with tries by Owen Jones, Ryan Houghton and Connor Leckenby, the latter following a run across the entire length of the field.
The Sharks’ Rob Campbell also bagged a hat-trick, with Colin Wright also crossing the whitewash for the Orford side.
The North Walians are still on a learning curve but they will be delighted to earn two points so early in their development.
