Wales Students will take on the RAF on Wednesday at Tata Steel RUFC (kick-off 7pm) for the first ever Simon Weston Challenge Cup.
The trophy will be presented by Weston and has been named after him due to his connections with both organisations.
Weston, a patron of Wales Rugby League, and who has relatives playing the game, suffered severe burn injuries during the Falklands War, and was treated at an RAF hospital.
Wales Students come into the match after an exciting drawn match with South Wales Jets and head coach Clive Griffiths is exciting about this next game.
“We looked a good team for a lot of the match against the Jets,” he said. “We came back and showed what we can do.
“We’re delighted to welcome the RAF to Wales and I’m so glad that we were able to get the fixture organised. Hopefully it will become an annual event.
“These boys will be a bit more physical, so it’s going to be a tough test.”
