York Knights, starring Bailey Antrobus, set a club record of 16 wins in a row, when they beat London Broncos, who fielded Curtis Davies, Huw Worthington and Matt Ross. Featherstone Rovers kept up their hopes for the play-offs. Caleb Aekins helped them remain fifth in the table as they won at Doncaster. Halifax Panthers leapt above Doncaster into sixth as, with Connor Davies starring, they won at home to Hunslet. Widnes Vikings remain in contention for a top-six play-off place after winning at Barrow Raiders, leapfrogging over them into eighth as a result. Matty Fozard was among the Widnes try scorers.
Denive Balmforth was in the Catalans Dragons side that lost out at Warrington Wolves in the Men’s Super League, but in the reserves, Dafydd Morgan helped Bradford Bulls to a home win over St Helens. In the NRL, Sam Hughes and Harry Hayes were in the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs side that lost to Sydney Roosters.
Dani McGifford scored her third hat-trick of tries this season for St Helens as they beat Hudderssfield Giants to keep them in second place in the Women’s Super League. Gracie Hobbs was in the Giants side. Wigan Warriors, featuring Carys Marsh, remain top after beating Leigh Leopards, whilst York Valkyrie also remain in contention for the league leaders shield after Agnes Wood helped them to beat Warrington Wolves.
London Broncos all but sealed a home game in the RFL Women’s Championship play-offs after winning at Georgia Cussons‘ Sheffield Eagles. Kathryn Salter kicked three goals for the Broncos, with Emily Hughes also playing for the capital side.
Hereford Harriers finished top of the Wheelchair Championship following a 96-12 win over Salford Red Devils. Leading the way was Gary Preece who scored four tries and kicked nine goals. Lee Sargent added four tries with his sister Libbie Sargent kicking three goals. Phil Davies added a solitary try.
In the Wheelchair Super League, Stuart Williams scored a try for Edinburgh Giants as they achieved their first win in the competition, beating fellow promoted side Sheffield Eagles.
