Everyone at the WRL National Development Rugby League Academy at Coleg y Cymoedd hopes that all Year 11 players achieve all they hoped for when they receive their GCSE results on Thursday.
The Academy will be holding a taster day on Friday 22nd August at the Ystrad Mynach Campus for parents and players who would like to discuss their academic opportunities at Coleg Y Cymoedd alongside training as a full-time rugby league player.
Timetable
9am-10am – Course options workshop – Ystrad Mynach Sport Dept
10am-11am – Gym Session – Ystrad Mynach Campus Gym
11.30am-1pm – Field Session – Centre of Excellence
Applications are still open for those who want to join the course for 2025-26, and it’s not too late for you to start next week. This course has produced Wales internationals and Super League players.
Strength and Conditioning sessions will be rugby league specific with Geraint Kettley, a level 4 fitness instructor.
Rugby league field sessions are with Mark Jones (Wales Students coach) and Wayne Ponting (Cardiff Demons and WRL women’s side coach).
