Another good win for Wales Students in Four Nations prep

Wales Students were given a good workout against All Golds in Bristol, but in the end the result was never in doubt.

The Students won 48-18 after being 34-6 up at half-time, and took the lead as early as the second minute when Dylan Morgan scored in the corner and Mason Apsee easily converted.

It was 12-0 on five minutes after skipper Mason Phillips was put through following a fine set of passes and Apsee goaled again.

All Golds replied on eight minutes with a Henry Simons try converted by Morgan Lewis, but that was all they were going to get until the later stage of the game.

More tries followed from George Groves and Alex Naylor, who made a brilliant take for his. Morgan scored his second on the half hour, with Apsee keeping up his 100 percent kicking record and Wales were still on a point a minute at 30-6 on the half-hour.

Unconverted efforts each side of half-time, from Lewis Ingram and Jarrad Hughes, increased Wales’ lead further. Lewis Howells then scored on the hour, with Apsee converted, and Kian Lloyd finished the Wales scoring with an unconverted try on 62 minutes.

All Golds’ late consolation efforts came from Angus Parkin and McKenzie Cumming with Lewis adding two more goals.

Wales Students now take on the RAF at The Gnoll in Neath on Wednesday 15th April (kick-off 7pm) before starting their Four Nations campaign in Ireland on Saturday 23rd May, with all matches this season being played as double headers with the U16 Four Nations games.
