In Betfred League One, North Wales Crusaders enjoyed their second win in a row, this time at the expense of Cornwall. Rob Massam and Owain Abel both got over the try line in a convincing 42-10 win against a Cornwall side featuring Harry Boots, Jake Lloyd and Ewan Badham.

Fresh from being named League One Player of the Month in Rugby League World, full-back Owen Restall scored a hat-trick to help Dewsbury Rams to a comprehensive win against London Skolars. Curtis Davies also took the field for the Rams.

The Betfred Championship enjoyed its ‘Summer Bash’ in York last weekend, but there were no home comforts for York Knights, who lost to the undefeated Featherstone Rovers, who had Caleb Aekins and Craig Kopczak in the side.

John Kear and Widnes Vikings were celebrating a win over Swinton Lions. Matty Fozard was in the Vikings line-up, coming up against international teammates Mike Butt, Rhodri Lloyd and Gavin Bennion. Josh Ralph was on the losing side for Toulouse Olympique XIII as they were beaten by London Broncos.

 

Wales captain Elliot Kear scored the first try for Batley Bulldogs as they claimed an impressive win against Halifax Panthers.  Curtis Davies was involved in a high-scoring encounter, but his Newcastle Thunder side lost out 38-32 to Sheffield Eagles. Chester Butler featured for Bradford Bulls as they got the better of district rivals, Keighley Cougars.

In Super League, Gil Dudson came off the bench for Warrington Wolves as they went down to Leigh Leopards, whilst six Welshmen were in the Salford Red Devils reserve side that lost out to Hull FC. Billy Walkley, Joe Coope-Franklin, Finley Yates, Rhys Davies, Jacob Lee and Charlie Glover all played their part for our partner club.

In the NRL, Bradman Best was a try-scorer for Newcastle Knights in their win against Manly Sea Eagles.

In the Women’s Super League, Carys Marsh was in the halves as her Wigan Warriors side beat Huddersfield Giants 30-20. Also on the winning side was Keira McCosh as Leigh Leopards beat Salford Red Devils 58-10. However, Bethan Dainton, fresh from being named in the Super League Team of the Month was unable to prevent Leeds Rhinos from losing 38-18 at home to St Helens in the live Sky Sports match.
