There are two big deciders taking place at The Lextan Gnoll in Neath on Saturday with the main event being an U16 international between Wales and England Lions which kicks off at 1pm.
Wales and England meet in the final match of the U16 Four Nations Championship and the situation couldn’t be closer.
Wales are currently top of the table on tries scored – 18 to England’s 17. Both sides beat Ireland and Scotland earlier this season and both have a points difference of 76. It means that is really is winner takes all.
The Welsh won last year’s encounter 38-18 in Leigh, giving them the first ever U16 Four Nations title. Sam Dickinson, Joseph Johnson, Morgan Marozzelli, Finlay Walker and Jake Sheppard all remain in the Wales U16 squad from that victorious side in 2023.
West Wales and East Wales clash for the third time this season as a curtain-raiser to the U16 game (kick-off 11am).
In the first game, played in sub-zero temperatures in December, West beat East 22-12, whilst in slightly warmer climes in March, the two sides fought out a 22-all draw.
So any win for West will give them the series, with East needing an 11-point victory to give them the spoils.
West have named an 18-player squad which includes two new players in Rhondda Outlaws duo Iestyn Ede and Ruben Main. East have named 21 players with no new additions.
Admission for the day is £5 for adults, £2 for under 16s and under 5s free. Tickets can be bought here.
