Wales Students are to take on the United Kingdom Armed Forces Rugby League side at Nelson RFC this Wednesday (kick-off 7pm).
The Welsh have just come off the back of a tough Four Nations campaign and are using this encounter to help their relationship with the armed forces and to raise funds for students programme.
Wales coach Paul Emanuelli said: “We have ten of this year’s 2019 Four Nations squad available and ten unavailable – five are in the Wales U19’s training camp and others with their professional clubs or injuries – which we largely knew about before we accepted the fixture.
“What we’ve decided to do as coaches is use the fixture as almost like a pre-trial for next year, so we’ve invited anyone who is currently a student or was in wider squad this year.
“We’ve also invited lads who intend to do courses and be a student for 2019-20 and are eligible for next year’s Four Nations in Ireland and the 2021 World Cup.”
Admission to the encounter on Wednesday 31st July is just £3.
