This Sunday’s big World Cup warm-up match between Wales and Canada will also include a curtain raiser, with the events starting at 11.30am.
Wales Women will take the centre stage at 3pm, when Tom Brindle’s side play their first warm-up match ahead of the World Cup, but earlier in the day, there’s an U14 Girls’ Origin Development match between West Wales and East Wales.
Rob Apsee from Wales Rugby League said: “Following the success of the first girls clubs matches played at Jets Fest earlier this month, we’re delighted that we can stage an U14 Developmemt Origin match.
“We’re using this as a stepping stone to restart the girls’ origins programme around September, so this is a perfect next step for us.
“It’s been a very good month for the girls game in Wales, following Plasmawr winning a national final this month too, and with Wales women preparing for the World Cup, the future looks bright for the female game in Wales.”
