West Wales U14 levelled the 2025 Origin Series at 1-1 after a dominant second half against East Wales in Merthyr on Saturday.
After being 22-10 up at half-time, West went on to win 48-16.
They started well after Jacob Maund try gave West Wales an early lead. Will Mordecai converted.
East then opened their account on 10 minutes through an unconverted Alfie Bailey try.
West increased their lead three minutes later when Lloyd Cokeley ran over 50 metres to score under the posts and Mordecai converted.
Again East back. Gabriel Benson ran over following a scrum and Morgan Jones converted.
But West went into the break 22-10 up after tries from Izak Aiono and Koby Rogers, the latter improved by Mordecai.
East’s skipper Danny Jones put them back in the game with a try after just three minutes in the second half. Morgan Jones converted.
After that, West took control. Maund extended their lead with an unconverted try. Two tries from Henry Davies followed with Mordecai converting the second of them.
Cokeley soon added his second try of the day with Caden Templar soon following him over. Mordecai converted both.
