Wales U16s are looking for a fourth successive Four Nations title, when they take on England this Saturday at The Gnoll in Neath (kick-off 11am).
The match is the first in a triple-header of encounters against England, with an U17s friendly at 2.30pm, before the countries’ respective Students sides meet in the deciding match of their Championship at 6.15pm. Tickets are available here.
If you are unable to make the matches, they will all be streamed at https://lounges.tv/profile/walesrugbyleague.
In the seven matches played between Wales and the England Community Lions, Wales have won five, including the last three. It’s been a remarkable run for our youngest international side, with three players who were involved in some of those five victories since 2022, Lloyd McEwan-Peters, Sam Dickenson and Sam Grice, having already made their senior Wales men’s side debuts.
Both England and Wales have beaten Scotland and Ireland so far in this competition, with England having the better points difference going into this match. Both sides have scored 24 tries over two matches, but England have conceded just the one try, Wales have let through four.
Wales head coach Tom Marsh said: “Following on from our win against Scotland, the lads have rested and prepared themselves away from camp to give them the best opportunity when they play England on the 20th.
“Building up to the game, we are in camp for two days, strengthening the connections between the boys.
“England are an experienced and talented group, so we need to be prepared to put us in a good position to get the result that we want on Saturday.
“Cymru am byth.”
