Valley Cougars’ coach, Mark Rowley has been elected as the new chairman of Wales Rugby League. He replaces Danny Sheehy who in-turn replaces Phil Melling as the new vice-chairman.
Rowley has been a stalwart of Wales Rugby League since the Cougars’ inception three years ago. He not only coaches and chairs the Pontypridd-based club, he is also heavily involved in the junior international game, successfully bringing international Rugby League back to Sardis Road earlier this year.
His election to the post of chairman is a just reward for his hard work and dedication to Rugby League in Wales.
Celtic Crusaders’ chief executive, Chris O’Callaghan will represent the club on the WRL board while John O’Callaghan was elected treasurer. Mike Nicholas was returned unanimously to the post of the organisation’s president.
