Nick Harkin has been appointed as the new Wales Rugby League Masters head coach.
Masters Rugby League is played by those aged 35 and over, with modified rules for different age groups to encourage participation for all ages. No scores are officially kept in this version of the sport, but try scorers are recorded.
A Wales Masters international for the past three seasons, Harkin has played for Cardiff Blue Dragons at both open-age and Masters levels.
His ongoing commitment to the game of rugby league, where he is also an active junior coach at Cardiff, and to Masters rugby makes him a fantastic fit as the volunteers continue to grow and strengthen the Masters community across Wales.
Harkin said: “It’s an honour to step into the role of Wales Masters Rugby League head coach. Representing Wales carries a deep sense of pride, and that pride will sit at the centre of everything we do.
“My aim is to build a culture grounded in respect, commitment, and a genuine love for the Masters game. We will work hard to create an environment where every player feels valued, supported, and challenged — a place where we stand together as one team wearing the Welsh badge.
“We will also develop a clear, confident playing identity that reflects who we are as a group and as a nation. It will be a style everyone understands, believes in, and is proud to represent.”
