Wales have named their 14-player squad for the Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) international against England this Saturday at Penallta RFC (kick-off 12.30pm).
The match is the first of a double header that also sees South Wales Jets take on Rhondda Outlaws.
New Wales head coach Ieuan Griffiths could take part in both matches, naming himself in the PDRL squad, as well as another potential debutant in Warrington Wolves’ Matthew Turner.
Griffiths said: “We’ve some strong players, some quite experienced players, but we do have some youth and a bit of inexperience. However I think the mix of established players and fresh young faces will get us through the tough challenge of England.”
Wales: John Tranter (Castleford Tigers), Eric Horridge (Hull FC), Dylan Hughes (Leeds Rhinos), Ieuan Griffiths (Rhondda Outlaws), Tyma Hughes, Paul Jones, Connor Rice (Salford Red Devils), David Jones (Wakefield Trinity), Rhod Davis, Justin Martin, Paul O’Keefe, Matthew Turner (Warrington Wolves), Matt James, Stewart Newton (both unattached)
