Wales Masters have named a 19-player squad to face Australia at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday 15th August.
It will be Australia Masters first ever visit to Wales, although they have faced Wales twice in the past – in York in 2022 then in Canada a year later.
There are three uncapped players in the squad – Simon White from Cardiff Blue Dragons, Stuart Leather from Chester Gladiators and Gareth Williams from Swindon St George.
Masters Rugby League is played by people aged 35 and over. Even though tries are scored in Masters Rugby League, no points are recorded and there are no winners in this version of the sport, with every match ending officially in a 0-0 draw. There are no champions and no cup finals – Masters is about is all about the spirit of the game. It’s also great for mental well-being.
