Summer Smash returns to South Wales on Saturday 11th July, with the action this year moving to Sardis Road, the home of Pontypridd RFC, with two matches in the JES Group Rugby League Conference, plus junior festivals.
The afternoon of rugby league starts at noon with an U8s festival featuring Aber Valley Wolves, Swansea Rams and Torfaen Tigers.
Then, at 1pm, it’s the first men’s senior match of the day when last year’s champions Aberavon Fighting Irish take on local outfit Rhondda Outlaws.
An U9 festival follows at 3pm, before the final match of the day an hour later when South Wales Jets face Bridgend Blue Bulls in the other Conference encounter.
Rob Deeney, Operations Coordinator at Wales Rugby League, said: “We were delighted with the success of Summer Smash at Cardiff Arms Park in 2025, and this year we’re excited to take the event to Sardis Road in Pontypridd and introduce rugby league to a new audience in the Valleys.
“Sardis Road is a fantastic venue with a proud rugby heritage, so it’s the perfect place to showcase the sport at every level. The day begins with our youngest players in the Under 8s festival, highlighting the bright future of rugby league in Wales, before we move into two important senior Conference fixtures featuring some of the best community clubs in the country. The Under 9s festival in between ensures there will be plenty of action throughout the afternoon.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming players, families and supporters for what promises to be another excellent celebration of community rugby league in Wales, and we hope plenty of local rugby fans will come along to experience the sport for the first time.”
