Welsh coaches complete RLEF level two coaching course

Last Sunday at Glamorgan Wanderers RFC, the home of Cardiff Blue Dragons, eight coaches from five community clubs completed the RLEF Level Two Coaching Course.

These coaches will now all complete written CATO tasks including planning, delivering and evaluating six progressive sessions for skill development to gain the full qualification.

WRL Development Officer Rob Davies, who delivered the course alongside West Wales Raiders Head Coach Kim Williams and RLEF Coach Development Manager Martin Crick across two weekends between Cardiff and Bridgend, said: “It’s great to see our coaches develop, gaining further qualifications, but also sharing ideas and philosophies with one another. The nature of coaching means you never stop learning and it’s safe to say even the most experienced amongst us learned something from the course.”

This course follows the success of the match officials course earlier in the year and CPD continues in Wales. Clubs and individuals are now encouraged to put forward candidates for the RLEF level one qualification to Rob.Davies@WalesRugbyLeague.co.uk. The dates and venues for these will be announced.
