Wales Rugby League held their annual community cap presentation evening last Saturday at the University of South Wales in Trefforest.
There to receive their caps were members of the East and West Wales squads from under 13, 15 and senior levels, as well as the Wales Dragonhearts side who toured Serbia.
The trophy for the 2018 Senior Welsh Origin series was also officially presented to the East Wales captain Mike Hurley.
Doing the presentations was WRL board member Gareth Kear, who is the father of Wales national side captain Elliot Kear.
He said: “It’s always marvelous to be part of an evening like this. The junior and community game is where it all starts for us here in Wales. To see a packed house in Trefforest where parents and relatives could celebrate their family members’ achievements is very satisfying.
“I can remember watch my son Elliot receive his first ever youth cap for Wales, and now he’s our national team captain. Somewhere in this room, there could be another Welsh leader in the future.”
