Wales Rugby League’s Craig Davies has been selected to be a match official in the European U19 Championships later this year.
He will also be the man in the middle for the Wales U16 international against Scotland on June 30 at Chester RUFC.
Davies has officiated in rugby league matches in Wales since 2021, taking part in finals day that year. Last year, he came to prominence after refereeing U16 and Student international matches in Wales. He has now progressed to become a graded RFL match official within the professional game.
Davies said: “I’m very pleased to be selected to represent Wales Rugby League in the upcoming European U19 Championships. It shows that if you embrace the sport and work hard, then these things are achievable. I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity and hopefully it puts me in the shop window to go and achieve more honours.”
James Jones, head of match officials in Wales, said: “Craig is one of our valued members of Wales RL match officials squad.
“Having already gained international match officials honours at U16s level, this appointment is just reward for his hard work on and off the field. We at Wales RL are all extremely proud to see Craig representing his country on the International Stage.
“It is exciting to see our internal pathway creating opportunities for Welsh based match officials to progress through the ranks.”

Wales U19s will not take part in the European Championships this year and will instead play home and away matches against Ireland and will also travel to France.
